2022 Swim Newsletter 6/27/22
Volunteering is not optional
Our swim team is entirely organized and run by volunteers, as are our swim meets. The only exception is the coaching staff (head coach and assistant coaches). Without volunteers we cannot have a swim team.
The expectation is for each family to volunteer at 3 meets, whether or not your child swims in the meets. If you have a hardship that prevents your family from volunteering during meets, contact one of the swim team co-chairs, Crystal ([email protected]) or Rodika ([email protected]).
Pancake Breakfast
We are hosting the annual Wellsley Wave Pancake Breakfast on Thursday, 6/30 from 10 AM - noon (times are staggered as kids finish up morning practice). We will have pancakes and fruit and this is always a fun event for our swimmers. If you can help make pancakes, donate supplies, or with set-up or clean-up we would greatly appreciate it! Click here to help out.
If you are donating supplies, please deliver to the pool by 9 AM, 6/30, or you can drop them at Anne’s house (306 Parkgate) by Wednesday, 6/29.
11 and Up After Hours Swim Party!
Enjoy an after hours party at the pool for swim team kids 11 and up on Thursday, July 7 from 8:30 - 9:30pm!
We will have snacks and beverages - please sign up here to contribute supplies or to volunteer to be poolside.
Swim Photos Needed for Slideshow
We have created a public Google Drive for parents to upload pictures taken at any swim team function. These pictures will help in the creation of our swim team slideshow shown at the banquet. This is always a fun part and the kids like to see pictures of themselves and friends.

Terrific Tuesdays
If you are available during Tuesday morning practice to help with terrific Tuesdays, come down to the pool and let the coaches know that you can stay and help them out.
Cary City Meet
On Saturday, July 16th, 2022, Scottish Hills Recreational Club will host the 39th annual Cary City Invitational Swim Meet. All TSA Southern Division teams are invited to participate. Scottish Hills is excited and honored to be part of this swimming tradition and hopes that you’ll be a part of the event. 10 & Unders swim in the morning. 11&ups swim in the afternoon.
Entry fees will be covered by our team. Note: If you do not show you will be charged for the entry fees.
Swimmers ages 6 & Under may register for no more than two individual events (freestyle and backstroke); please note that all 6 & Unders swim 25 yards. Swimmers ages 7&Up may register for no more than three individual events (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly).
By default, all swimmers are marked as not attending Cary City Meet. If your swimmer wants to attend, update their attendance in the wellsley wave site by July 2, 2022 at 5pm. You can also select what events they wish to swim.
If you kid comes, plan on working (we are assigned jobs based on the # of swimmers who attend & also need kid pushers in the tent).
