Recap from Week 7/3
Hello swimmers and parents!
Crazy to believe that this is the last full week of practice for the 2023 season! I wanted to talk about a few things from last week, and a few notes for the upcoming week as well.
The home meet against Twelve Oaks ended in a close loss with Wellsley at 219.5 points and Twelve Oaks at 276.5 points. I have seen a lot of improvement this season, and I am so proud of every swimmer! I wanted to give a special shoutout to Spencer Ramsbottom and Fernanda Banda Sifuentas, who won our Wave of the Week awards! Spencer broke the Wellsley record for the boys 6 & under backstroke, and Fernanda swam up in the 15-18 girls relay so that the girls would be able to participate! They both crushed it on Wednesday, along with all of the other swimmers!!
Tomorrow is our last away meet at Preston Village. Warmups start at 5:30pm, so please be there early for numbers. Also, tomorrow after the 6 & under practice we will be having our annual walk to Gooseberries Frozen Custard! The walk is only allowed for 11 and up swimmers, BUT if a 10 and under wants to participate as well, it is fine to walk or drive as long as a parent attends with the swimmer. We will be at Goodberries around 12-12:15pm if you choose to drive.
CARY CITY is on Saturday! The 6 & unders start at approximately 8am and the 11 and ups start at approximately 2pm. Our theme is Cars the movie! Please be there early because it will be crowded!
The Wellsley End-of-Season Swim Banquet will be on July 20th at 7pm. This will occur after our last home meet next Tuesday, which will also be the last day of practice.
This has been an incredible season, and I am beyond honored to have been able to coach your swimmers! Let's have the most amazing last week! Go Wave!
